It was decided that Flickr support really doesn’t belong in WP core, that it belongs in a plugin, and that said plugin will probably be used on WordPress.com. You may see a brief interruption of Flickr support here, including the removal of the Flickr Username field from the Profile page. Worry not!

when flickr has wordpress support, why does wordpress need flickr support?…
